ScoreMux Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 11, 2026. ScoreMux 1.0 has not been released.

ScoreMux is a sheet-music app for iPhone and iPad from Lulabean LLC.

The app has no ScoreMux account or developer-operated library server.

Music and storage

ScoreMux saves your imported music and work on the device first. This includes PDFs, scans, songs, shows, set lists, markings, cuts, bookmarks, reading positions, and settings.

Practice saves session timing, music and page activity, notes, and captured recordings.

When iCloud Sync is on, ScoreMux copies supported saved work into your private CloudKit database under your Apple Account. This includes saved Practice sessions and their microphone or MIDI recordings.

Lulabean LLC does not receive your private library through this sync. Your devices use your iCloud storage and Apple's account services.

Device-only mode stops ScoreMux's private library sync on that device. It does not turn off iCloud Drive, Files providers, or operating-system backups.

Some music export flows save files to iCloud Drive when it is available. Files you save or share outside ScoreMux can use the storage provider you choose.

Private iCloud storage does not promise that every field or file has end-to-end encryption. Apple supplies iCloud security and account protection. See Apple's iCloud security overview.

Microphone and MIDI

The tuner processes sound live on the device. The tuner does not save or send a recording.

An enabled visual tuner can keep listening in the reader after the full tuner closes. Listening stops when no tuner surface uses the microphone.

Practice can record microphone audio for replay. Start can choose microphone input automatically when no enabled MIDI input is available.

With microphone input, a session records sound while capture is active. Done saves a compressed AAC recording with the session. Temporary audio can remain while an interrupted session awaits recovery or completion.

Practice can instead capture MIDI notes and controls from an enabled keyboard, or use timer input without a microphone recording. Choose timer input when you do not want to save audio or MIDI.

Saved Practice recordings can sync through your private iCloud when sync is on. You can share a recording, session details, and included music with a recipient you choose.

On iPad, Keyglow saves MIDI sessions locally and can export performances as video.

Camera, Photos, and nearby devices

Camera permission lets you photograph music to add to a book. Nearby camera mode sends an iPhone's photos and live previews to the waiting iPad. ScoreMux saves selected scans with your music.

Photos add permission lets you save an exported Keyglow video to Photos.

Local-network permission supports nearby music and recording transfers, camera transfer, Play Together, and Keyglow controls over local or peer-to-peer Wi-Fi. Discovery can expose device names and a Play Together session title to nearby devices.

Bluetooth supports the nearby camera request and an iPhone's background response. Notification permission supports camera-request alerts and Practice reminders.

These features do not route your music through a Lulabean LLC server.

You can change microphone, camera, Photos, Bluetooth, local-network, and notification permissions in iPhone or iPad Settings. Denying a permission limits the feature that needs it. You can still read imported music without microphone or camera permission.

Exports, backups, and sharing

Sharing is your choice. ScoreMux can send files through Apple's share sheet or directly to nearby ScoreMux devices.

The recipient receives the content included in the file or package. This can include music, markings, session history, recordings, names, and written notes.

ScoreMux setup backups and shared packages are not password-encrypted.

A setup backup covers the library content supported by that backup format. A format 6 backup includes:

It does not contain unsaved recordings, incoming files, general device preferences, device identity, pairing secrets, account and sync state, or purchase authority.

Older formats cannot restore work they never included. Formats 1–5 omit Practice and Keyglow sessions.

Restore adds missing work. Existing records and whole documents take precedence, and the result reports kept records and files. Restore does not replace a populated library with an exact historical copy.

ScoreMux retains the complete incoming backup locally. The result lets you save a copy elsewhere.

That archive can still contain older recordings after you delete the restored session or take. It has no fixed expiry and is excluded from later portable backups.

Other apps, storage providers, and people you select control their copies under their own policies. Lulabean LLC cannot recall files you have sent to them.

Retention and deletion

Saved library work and Practice sessions remain until you delete or erase them. Saved Keyglow sessions have no fixed expiry.

Recent local Keyglow video and audio exports use a 24-hour cleanup threshold and a 4 GB budget. ScoreMux checks these files during cleanup rather than deleting them at a guaranteed time. Protected files can remain longer. Copies saved elsewhere are separate.

In Practice History, open a session's menu to delete its recording or the whole session. Deleting only the recording keeps the session summary and activity. ScoreMux marks the recording as removed before attempting to delete its files. File removal can fail. This does not guarantee secure erasure.

Synced deletions reach iCloud and other enrolled devices when sync succeeds. Offline copies can remain until those devices connect.

Settings provides separate device and everywhere erase controls. Erasing only this device leaves existing iCloud copies and other devices' copies. It also removes this device from ScoreMux's sync enrollment.

An everywhere erase requests deletion of ScoreMux's cloud work when sync succeeds. It asks other devices to follow the erase. Those devices can keep their local music and later copy it back. Older app versions can handle the erase differently.

Known-device pairing records can remain in the device Keychain after a library erase or app removal. Use Forget on a paired-device entry to remove that peer record.

A successful erase of ScoreMux's app data removes its locally retained incoming backups. It does not delete original files, exports, or backup copies saved outside the app, or recipients' copies.

Removing the app does not request deletion of its private iCloud data. Apple and your selected storage providers control their own backup and recovery retention.

Permission changes stop future access to the affected resource. They do not erase saved files.

Purchases and diagnostics

Apple handles App Store purchases and restores. ScoreMux checks StoreKit transactions on the device to unlock Keyglow. Lulabean LLC does not receive your payment-card details through ScoreMux.

The ScoreMux app has no advertising service, tracking service, or automatic developer analytics upload.

Local diagnostics can include transfer events, provider errors, device details, and named Keyglow looks. You can choose to send feedback or diagnostic information to the developer.

Apple may also provide diagnostics according to your Apple settings and its policies. For beta tests, Apple's TestFlight service shares crash, usage, and submitted feedback information with the developer.

ScoreMux does not send a separate automatic report to the developer. See TestFlight and Privacy.

Support mail

If you contact support, Lulabean LLC receives the email address, message, and attachments you send.

Support mail delivers to Max Michael's Fastmail account. Max is the only person with access. We use your messages to answer your request and investigate the reported problem.

Send only material you want us to receive. No fixed retention period or automatic deletion routine is set for support mail.

You can ask us to delete support material by emailing support@scoremux.com. Support records are separate from your private library and iCloud storage.

Website

This website uses Cloudflare for hosting and security. Cloudflare processes network and request information, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the site. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled for this website to measure visits and page performance. Its browser script can send page and performance information to Cloudflare.

Its current setting is configured to exclude browser performance data for connections to Cloudflare data centers in the EU, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. This depends on Cloudflare's routing and does not guarantee an exclusion based on where you live. See Cloudflare's Web Analytics information.

Cloudflare also provides request and response-status statistics for the site. The browser-analytics exclusion does not turn off the network processing needed to serve and protect the website.

The website's interactive music demonstrations run in your browser. They do not upload your music or markings to Lulabean LLC.
